Tile Comics was created by David Hellman and Dale Beran, the same chaps responsible for A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible. Seeing that their work had caused nothing but suffering, David and Dale realized the necessity to press on.

After an initial brainstorming session in which themes and subjects for the first batch of tiles were decided upon, David went ahead with the illustrations. Dale, David, and other writers (including Ryan North of Dinosaur Comics and Nick Gurewitch of The Perry Bible Fellowship) have penned scripts.

Over time, new tiles will gradually be phased in, with old tiles perhaps getting phased out. It's possible that in a year, there will be a completely different set of active tiles.

I would like to write for Tile Comics.

We are accepting scripts for consideration on an ongoing basis, making our selections according to completely erratic criteria. By sending us your script, you give us permission to publish it at our discretion.

Please include 1) Your Nom de Plume, 2) Your web site or blog that your name will link to, and 3) A title for your script. If you forget, we will simply make up something crude but not funny.

Scripts must indicate which tile is to be used, whether text is to appear in a bubble or alone (as "narration"), and what the text is. They usually look something like this:

Rather than presenting scripts, some have made full graphical mock-ups of their comics. That's just as good (in fact, it's a little nicer, since it reads much more quickly and effectively than a script).
